Genesis Day 70: Almost done! (plus a contest)

Have you done any genealogical research? Before Ancestry.com and DNA test kits and internet in every home, you actually had to go somewhere. Talk to town historians. See great-aunt Margaret. Visit cemeteries and libraries.

Nowadays, it’s all at our fingertips.

My friend, a pastor, didn’t know much about his family history. He did some research and traced his lineage back a few generations.

He found several missionaries and ministers. It blessed him to know that his calling wasn’t new. He was one in a long line of faithful servants.

We all want to know where we came from. Why such interest in the past? Maybe it’s part curiosity.

But maybe, just maybe, having insight to the big picture of our family history can also give us perspective and purpose.

We’ve been exploring our family history in Genesis over the last several months. On Friday I’ll post my final thoughts.

For now, I’d love to have your feedback. (When we finished the Gospel of John together, I asked the same. Your responses helped me immensely!)

Please fill out the form here by Sunday, September 30. Three people will be chosen to receive a special surprise gift. Winners will be announced next week.
